About Mourning Light

At Mourning Light, clients receive compassionate, expertly grounded
grief care—honouring personal stories, supporting emotional flow, and
guiding hearts toward light with relational warmth and clinical precision.

About Me: What We Offer
My name is Andy. I set up Mourning Light because I believe the power of
relationship combined with the therapy I offer can help you to integrate
and find meaning from your loss, even in the most traumatic of
circumstances.

I have worked for the past seven years for the NHS working within a
cognitive behavioural framework as both a Senior Psychological
Wellbeing Practitioner and Colleague Wellbeing Trainer. Prior to this I
completed an advanced diploma in integrative counselling training and
volunteered for local low-cost counselling charities. More recently I have
completed specialist grief training at the forefront of evidence-based
practice for loss from the Center for Prolonged Grief (Columbia
University, New York).

Counselling enables individuals to express themselves and process their
emotions, whilst cognitive behavioural therapy can offer a more framed
therapeutic support to address the wellbeing ramifications of resulting
depression and anxiety such as lack of motivation, withdrawal from life
and struggles facing a new and uncertain future.

Specialist grief training has offered me a framework to work towards
enabling the best possible outcomes; it has proven to be almost twice as
effective as traditional grief therapy and adopted in pilot studies by the
NHS in the last few years.

With the combination of world-leading grief training, my focus upon
relationship, and the experience of having helped thousands of people
within the NHS- I am well placed to support you with the empathy,
integrity, respect and professionalism you deserve.
